Retrospection


Sit quietly. Let your mind clear of thoughts. An easy way to do this is to follow a blue stream of light in and out of your nose. Then let a blue light cover you and still watch the stream of light.

Then accept that a sort of motion picture of the important events (i.e. events significant to your own developement) of the period of time you wish to examine - day, week, year, etc. will pass before your eyes or into your awareness. Your eyes are closed.

This will take place in reverse order. That is, the last event of major significance will come first, and so forth. Accept that you will become more aware of the true circumstances surrounding thes events. Then any qualities in those events that you wish to keep and have strengthen, accept that they will grow within you. Any qualities that you do not wish to have, accept the replacement, and then see the old qualities starting to lose their energy to the new, strengthening the new pattern. Then when that stream is flowing, pass on to the next event. You can do this as far back in your life as you wish and with any qualities you wish.

This works well in conjunction with the Mujahida practice.
