Healing Practice: Ya Shaffee / Ya Kaffee

The sounds and words of YA SHAFFEE and YA KAFFEE, together with ALLAH can be used as focuses for healing purposes. The practice can be done in several ways. I will stress two. First is to get in tune with the process that is invoked by the recitation and repetition of YA SHAFFEE / YA KAFFEE.

Let me stress that in this practice, as in almost all "practices", the intent is to move beyond the limited use of the forms. In this case that means the sounds and the movements. They are used as intermediate steps to get to the more real experience and "position". In this situation, or process, you seek to become the instrument through which healing takes place. Eventually all these steps - sounds, motions, intents - are accomplished through one in-breath and one out-breath. Keep in mind that it is not the movements, sounds, words, that are important. They are not magic. They are only valuable in stepping stones to the more real. Further, keep in mind that it does take practice, and sometimes the practices may be difficult to do. Like anything, it takes effort - correct effort. While I will generally put forward two practices, following them are suggestions on modifying them to make it easier to catch if you have difficulty, and also some things to look for.

The YA SHAFFEE is the reaching toward the ideal - the Only Healer. It is a smooth reaching toward the One. The YA is the invoking - in heart and intention. The SHAFFEE "wooshes" toward and is seen, or become more aware of the presence of this One healer that provides all. There is correspondence in the so-called third eye or ajna chakra.

The YA KAFFEE starts when there is a sense of connection that comes as a result of invoking the One Healer. At this stage, one asks (invokes) that healing power of the ALL to come through ones own consciousness and being, including the finer, mental, and physical levels. It is here that the step is solidifying. Feel the difference between the hard K and the soft SH. One raises up while the other condenses, crystallizes, brings in earth.

The use of ALLAH is to remind one and to tune one that this process takes place through the forms of the positive and the negative - through the masculine and the feminine, active and receptive. AHL and LHA are the representation of that in function. Tune to that. Remember it comes from and returns to the unmanifest.

This recitation/repetition can be done in two ways. (Many more, but for our purposes, 2). Both are done in a regular, rhythmic sequence. In either case, the intent is to attune and to move toward the breath and ACTUAL real activity and process, not just the sounds or the motions.

The first is to do it several times focusing on each aspect. For example, repeat YA SHAFFEE several times until you get the sense of invoking and moving toward the One Healer. In this case 4 or 10 repetitions is useful. (Whatever you choose, try to balance the following KHAFFEE and ALLAH with the same number, intensity, and concentration.

After that, do the same with YA KHAFFEE and ALLAH. Spend, approximately two seconds or so for each name called. The action of the breath is, inhale during the YA SHAFFEEs. Retain during the ALLAHs. Exhale during the YA KAFFEEs. Retain (hold out) during the next ALLAHs. The breath comes in and goes out of the ALL the bodies smoothly, continuously. That is, it does not come in jerks to match the name being repeated mentally. Smooth in, hold easily, smooth out, calmly hold out. Breathe through all your bodies fully, not just in mouth. That means a complete breath which goes all through all your forms from all "directions".

The awareness in physical body may start in the fingertips, length of spine, ajna (forehead) chakra in the psychic. It then extends through all the body, mind, feeling, sense, attuning to the Highest. Try to connect to the earth and the heavens, becoming the intermediary. Actually feel this flow and connection through you, not "you" doing it.

The second method of doing this is repeat only once the entire phrasing. In this case, also attune to the process and become the intermediary, until finally you feel the ONE becoming the healer and healed. I will go into more of this in another writing.

During YA SHAFEE there will be increasing connection with your Ideal, and perhaps some exaltation. During ALLAH the alignment and attunement with Divine Spirit gets stronger. During YA KAFEE the descent of healing spirit into and through spiritual bodies, mind, and physical body continues. During the second ALLAH there is conscious submission to the will of Allah (AHL LHA - THE ONE). Notice that the knees are bent slightly, chin on chest, fingers heavy.

There are two other options to try if you have too much difficulty with either above. One is to try the attuning of #1 with two repetitions instead of four. The other is, after you get the sense and feeling of connecting to the Divine Ideal, the Only Healer, to then eliminate the word Allah. Then you will just do Ya Shaffee / Ya Kaffee. In all cases, remember that it is not to try to get the words and motions right, it is to use them to get the EXPERIENCE, so that you can forget about the intermediate stages and just breath and act with intention
